This visa is for international students who have recently graduated with skills and qualifications that are relevant to specific occupations in Australia needs.

Duration - from 18 months to 4 years

Location: you must be in Australia when you lodge this visa, you may be in our outside Australia when the visa is granted

There are two streams for this visa:

GRADUATE WORK STREAM

Duration 18 months

Main visa criteria

• You must have studied a course or a package of courses of at least 2 years duration

• The course (or courses) must qualify you in an occupation in the MLTSSL

• The course or courses can be at any level as long as they meet the minimum level required for the relevant occupation

• You must have completed the course in no less than 16 calendar months

• You must be younger than 50

• You must have a minimum level of English (IELTS 6.5 average with no scores below 5.5) or equivanent score in another accepted test

• You must have applied a 485 skills assessment

• You must have applied an AFP check

• You must have appropriate health cover

This visa lets you stay in Australia for 18 months.

You can bring eligible family members with you with this visa.

You will have full working rights.

POST STUDY STREAM

Duration from 2 to 4 years

This visa is not available to those who had a student visa on 5 November 2011

Main visa criteria

• The same criteria apply for the post study stream except that:

• The course of study must be at a minimum level of a Bachelor degree

• The field of study is not relevant

• It is not necessary that the course qualifies in any specific occupation

• A skills assessment is not required
