Duration of stay - Permanent

This process allows permanent sponsorship for new or existing employees.

The employee will need to meet their own requirements and apply for a visa linked to the nomination.

There are two Employer Nomination Scheme (186) streams:

  1. TEMPORARY RESIDENCE

    TRANSITION Stream

    (TRT)

Main NOMINATION

criteria

  • You must be the most recent sponsor of the visa applicant

  • You must operate a business lafwully

  • You must have a genuine need to fill a position

  • You are unable to cover the role with local workforce

  • The business must be financially viable

  • The position must be available for a minimum of two years

  • You will pay the applicant in line with the market salary rate and not below the threshold in force at the time of the nomination

2. DIRECT ENTRY (DE)

criteria

  • You don’t need to be current employer of the visa applicant

  • You must operate a business lafwully

  • You must have a genuine need to fill a position

  • You are unable to cover the role with local workforce

  • The business must be financially viable

  • The position must be available for a minimum of two years

  • You will pay the applicant in line with the market salary rate and not below the threshold in force at the time of the nomination
