Evidence that you meet the minimum level of skills required

Skills, experience and qualifications (main applicant only)

1. Your resume

2. Educational qualifications award certificate + transcripts (degree, diploma etc)

3. Reference letters from previous employers (find a sample here)

English language requirement (main applicant only)

Functional English (IELTS 4.5 overall)

What score do I need?

Evidence that you are a Genuine Temporary Entrant

Character and health insurance (this is for all applicants included in the application)

AFP clearance (all applicants)

Immigration purpose - obtained no more than 12 months ago

How to get one?

Police certificate from overseas (all applicants)

You are required to provide police certificates from all countries where you have spent:

- A minimum of 12 months (cumulatively)

- Since you turned 16

Health insurance (all applicants)

The cover needs to be specific for a 482 visa. You can compare several providers, here’s our favourite.

- Bupa

- Allianz

- Nib

If you have access to Medicare, you might not need a private cover.

Do you have partner or children?

Other than the documents requested above you will need to provide evidence of your relationship. Main documents:

- Marriage certificate/ Registration as a de facto couple (civil partnership)

- Evidence of cohabitation

- Evidence of financial commitment

- Social aspect of the relationship
